Ep. 16: Healing Generational Wounds with Semillas de Las Abuelas

Season #2 Episode #16

In this episode you hear us talking about how much healing writing this book has already brought us, and how healing is a part of our intention in writing this book. It might seem like it's only a collection of recipes, celebrations, songs, stories, etc. But it’s also more than that. It’s a book that is also about integrating a way of being, a way of living, and way of knowing that honors the history and ways of our ancestors, our Abuelas scarred by the wounds of colonization while giving us a way to heal those wounds. This is about grounding our everyday lives in a deep spiritual connection to our ancestors so that we may recognize the oppressive social dynamics by which we live, and allow ourselves and our children to survive and thrive in spite of these, and then push back on these forces as we work toward liberation.
